Two students at a high school in Sydney's West have been taken to the hospital with third degree burns after an incident in the science lab. The accident happened shortly after 9:30a.m(AEDT) March 12 at Norwest Christian Colledge at Riverstone. The ambulance service says that the 15-year olds suffered burns to 18 and 12 per cent of their bodies. An ambulance spokesman says that the boy and the girl were burnt by methylated spirits that caught fire from a Bunsen Burner. The students received burns to their arms, backs, chests and faces and are in a serious condition in Westmead Children's Hospital. The fire brigade and workcover are investigating what happened. This is what happens if you don't apply lab safety in the laboratory. They did not inform each other that the Bunsen Burner was still turned on and the fire was still burning so they caught fire. They should either turn the fire off or be informed that the fire was still on-ed...

What improvement would you see in Term 2?
More marks for my test? And more improvement in understanding more aobut what you are saying or discussion about in class or in the lab..
What you wish to learn in Term 2?
I wish to have more lab lessons and learn more about the insturments and experiment things... I also wish to learn more about facts of how and why and when and who found what and why and why they found what...
Reflection on the lesson learn in Term 1. Any good suggestion to improve ?
I feel that MOST of the lessons have been clearly explained except for those on Friday A.K.A lab lessons. The instruments are limited and we would need to take turns using them so while you are teaching us how to use the instruments, those of them who do not have the instruments would not know what you are talking about... So i suggest that you speak slower although time is limited too..
What are the thing you learn in Term 1?
I learnt that science will be more interesting with the lab experiments now. But I know that it would be tough because we would need instruments to help and guide us so we would need to study those instrument and study the topics too! So it would be double the hard work... I learnt how to draw simple instruments like the beaker and retort stand. I also learnt more instruments like the pipette and round-bottomed flask and ETC...
Reflection on term one's science test
Since Primary Three, I was already interested in science and I feel that science is not a very difficult subject. If you got the facts right, then it should be a " no problem" to you! And I feel that the science test was quite easy as I got an A1 and I think I can keep getting As for science provided that I studied for it.
